Internet sharing not working

Hi,

My macbook pro 2011 is connected to internet using AX226 wimax modem. I used to share this connection with other mobile devices through wi-fi in all OS X from 10.6 to 10.9. However, in Yosemite, the devices can connect to the shared wifi network, but don't receive any internet connection. For experiment, I tried disabling the firewall with no luck. It seems something is blocking the internet connection, but my limited expertise is no good to detect it. How to solve this issue?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Look at the setting for the wifi connection on the connected device… does it get an IP address, a router and a DNS entry in the settings too?

If the device is not getting those then look at the Mac, check how the wifi interface is setup, e.g. does it have a fixed address?

Try connecting multiple devices too. Check the wifi options on the sharing setup, you can change the wifi network name to make the iOS devices try setup a new network, sometimes when testing there can be multiple passwords saved & the connection can inexplicably fail.
